1. Introduction and Who We Are

Welcome to Action Against Social Services (actionagainstsocialservices.uk). We are a decentralized collective advocating for systemic reform and supporting families navigating social services and family law systems.

We operate independently. We do not share any data with the state, government agencies, or public sector bodies, and we are not affiliated in any way with any public sector organization.

2. The Data We Collect About You

Identity & Contact Data: Name, email address, and local council selections submitted via our website forms (processed via Gravity Forms and stored within our phpList mailing system).

Communication & Meeting Data: Records of communications, strategies, and discussions when you participate in our Zoom meetings (which may include audio/video recordings and AI-generated meeting summaries emailed to participants). For people who feel uncomfortable, you are welcome to participate in Zoom meetings whilst your camera is turned off and/or your microphone is muted and rely on Zoom text chat functionality.

Technical & Analytics Data: IP address, browser type, and usage data collected via Google Analytics to help us understand website traffic and improve user experience.

3. Pseudonyms, Safety, and User Responsibility

We actively encourage participants to use pseudonyms or nicknames for themselves and their family members on our social media profiles, Zoom calls, and community spaces.

Prohibited Content: You must not name individual social workers, judges, or other private individuals by name. You are welcome and encouraged to mention the correct local authority/authorities that affect you.

Legal Responsibility & Gagging Orders: You are solely responsible for checking the content of any reporting restrictions, family court injunctions, or gagging orders affecting you. Neither this collective, My UK Manifesto Limited, nor our hosting provider (Poundawebsite Ltd) accepts any liability whatsoever for content posted or shared by users.

4. How We Use Your Data

We use your personal data only where permitted by law, primarily under the lawful basis of consent or legitimate interests for campaigning and support:

Mailing Lists (phpList): To send you updates, campaign news, and regional information based on your selected local authorities and activism in your local area. Data is used strictly internally.

Zoom Meetings & AI Summaries: To host collaborative strategy/coffee sessions, record sessions (where applicable), and automatically generate and distribute meeting summaries to participants.

Website Analytics (Google Analytics): To analyze site traffic trends anonymously and optimize platform performance.

5. Data Sharing and Disclosure

Strictly Internal Use: Subscriber data managed via our mailing lists is used exclusively for internal campaign communications.

No State Sharing: We maintain a strict policy against sharing data with public sector bodies, local authorities, or state agencies.

Third-Party Processors: We utilize trusted third-party tools to operate our infrastructure, including:

Poundawebsite Ltd: Website hosting and server management.

Zoom Video Communications: Hosting virtual meetings, generating transcripts, and emailing AI meeting summaries.

Google Analytics: Website performance tracking.

6. Data Security and Retention

We have implemented appropriate security measures (including TLS/SSL encryption, DKIM/SPF/DMARC email authentication, and restricted server access) to prevent your personal data from being accidentally lost, used, or accessed in an unauthorized way.

We retain your personal data only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes we collected it for, or until you exercise your right to unsubscribe or request deletion.

7. You Own Your Data

Access: We will assist you if you ask us for copies of your personal information.

Rectification: We will assist you if you ask us to rectify personal information you think is inaccurate.

Erasure: We will support you if you ask us to erase your personal information (e.g., unsubscribing from our mailing list). We reserve the right to retain limited information for the purposes of enforcing our rules, for examples, maintaining blocks to accessing Action Against UK Social Services.

Objecting: We will support you if you can object to processing based on legitimate interests.
