Website: actionagainstsocialservices.uk

Governing Law: England and Wales

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using actionagainstsocialservices.uk (“The collective”), signing up for our mailing lists via our website, participating in our Zoom meetings, engaging with our external social media profiles and groups or in attending any events, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use our platform or services.

2. Nature of the Collective & No Legal Advice

Decentralized Collective: This website and its associated activities are run by a decentralized collective. Neither one of us is responsible for another and there is no intention to enter contractual relations of any kind in anything, whatsoever, that we do.

Not Legal Advice: All content, discussions, meetings, and materials provided by the collective are for informational, community support, and campaigning purposes only. We are not solicitors, lawyers, or regulated legal advisors. Nothing provided constitutes formal legal advice.

Independent Status: We operate entirely independently and are not affiliated in any way with any public sector organization, local authority, government body, or state agency.

3. Eligibility to Join and Explicit Exclusions

Joining means taking part in any of our activities.

To protect the safety, privacy, and integrity of our members campaign spaces and virtual and physical events, participation in our collective, mailing lists, Zoom meetings, and private social media groups is strictly governed by eligibility criteria:

Who Is Eligible to Join:

People personally affected by UK Social Services (including family members).

People who want the system to change and recognize that Social Workers across the UK are not fit for purpose.

Individuals residing outside the UK only if they or their family members have been negatively affected by UK Social Services.

Who Is Ineligible (Not Welcome):
Anyone currently working or volunteering in the public sector (including local councils, government departments, police, and state agencies).

Anyone who is currently, or has ever been, a Social Worker.

People who are lawyers, judges, or legal officers.

Adopters, foster carers, and care home workers.

People outside the UK who have no personal connection to or impact from UK Social Services.

Bad-Faith Actors & Spies: Anyone acting as an agent, informant, or proxy for local authorities, social services departments, or media seeking to disrupt, dox, or undermine the collective.

Attempting to bypass these restrictions or providing false information upon joining will lead to a permanent ban and action may be taken against you under the Computer Misuse Act 1991. We reserve the right to also publish your name and actions.

4. User Safety, Pseudonyms, and Restrictions

Pseudonyms & Privacy: Because of the sensitive nature of our advocacy, we actively encourage users and participants to use pseudonyms or nicknames for themselves and their family members across our social media groups, Zoom meetings and at virtual or physical events.

Prohibited Disclosures: To avoid giving the state a stick to beat us with (as much as we would love to), you must not name individual social workers, judges, guardians, or other private individuals by name. You are welcome and encouraged to name the relevant local authority/authorities involved. You can again use pseudonyms.

Legal Compliance & Gagging Orders: You are solely responsible for ensuring that any content, case details, or comments you share do not breach reporting restrictions, family court injunctions, non-disclosure agreements, or gagging orders. Action Against UK Social Services nor those who support us accept any liability whatsoever for user-generated content or breaches of court orders.

5. Intellectual Property and Content Submissions ("Donated Content")

Content License: When you share stories, commentary, campaign input, or materials with us (whether via form submissions, Zoom meetings, community discussions or at virtual or physical events), you grant us a worldwide, royalty-free, perpetual license to use, display, reproduce, and distribute that content for our campaigning, advocacy, and educational purposes.

Perpetual Donation: Once content, campaign feedback, or collective input is submitted or “donated” to our community efforts, it remains part of the collective campaign history and stays donated even if you choose to leave or unsubscribe from the collective.

Anonymity and Data Rights: While content contributions remain part of the campaign record, we respect your privacy and you always own your personally identifiable data. If you request the removal or amendment of personally identifiable information to comply with our Privacy Policy or data protection obligations, we will anonymize or redact your personal details accordingly.

Platform Rules: Content posted on external platforms (such as Facebook groups or Zoom) remains additionally subject to the terms, conditions, and copyright policies of those respective third-party platforms. Individuals taking part in events are wholly responsible for themselves.

6. Zoom Meetings, Recordings, and AI Summaries

We utilize Zoom to host strategy sessions and community meetings. These sessions may be recorded, and Zoom’s AI features may be used to generate and email meeting summaries to participants.

By participating in these meetings, you acknowledge and consent to the recording and AI processing of the session. You are responsible for maintaining your own anonymity (such as using a pseudonym for your display name or turning off your camera/microphone) if you wish to protect your identity during these calls. People doing so are welcome to fall back on Zoom text-based chat.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by the laws of England and Wales:

Action Against UK Social Services and those that support us accept no liability for any direct, indirect, or consequential loss or damage arising out of your use of the website, participation in meetings or virtual or physical events, our social media profiles, or reliance on campaign materials.

We make no warranties regarding the continuous availability, security, or error-free operation of the website or any of our virtual or physical events or services and accept no liability whatsoever.

8. Changes to These Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms and Conditions at any time. Changes will be posted directly on this page with an updated revision date. Continued use of the site and involvement following any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated terms. It is your responsibility alone to keep up to date with changes.
